Auction of original LeRoy Neiman baseball art

This undated photo provided by Heritage Auctions shows a baseball decorated by sports artist LeRoy Neiman in 1995 depicting Mickey Mantle swinging a bat and signed: “Mickey - There’ll never be another.” The ball is from the collection of bank marketing executive, which will be offered in a Heritage Auctions online sale on May 16. (AP Photo/Heritage Auctions) NEW YORK (AP) — The famous sports artist LeRoy Neiman had never tried drawing on a baseball until he sketched a player on one as a favor to a marketing executive. He liked it and over the next three decades Neiman drew 129 balls for his friend, capturing some of baseballs' greatest players in action.
