Scott Weiland sues over Stone Temple Pilots ouster

FILE - This Nov. 4, 2011 file photo originally released by Sony PlayStation shows Scott Weiland performing with Stone Temple Pilots during the Gran Turismo Awards in Las Vegas. Weiland countersued his former band mates on Friday, May 31, 2013, claiming they had no right to expel him from Stone Temple Pilots and should be blocked from using the group's name or music unless he is performing with them. The other members had accused Weiland of hijacking its name and songs to promote his solo career. Their lawsuit filed, May 24, 2013, accused Weiland of being chronically late to concerts and interfering with the release of a new single by the group.
