Garry Marshall, the knight of light, goes dark

In this Oct. 2, 2014 photo, director Gary Marshall poses at the Vineyard Theatre in New York, where he is directing the play "Billy & Ray," about the making of the classic film "Double Indemnity." Marshall, who created and wrote "Laverne & Shirley" and "Happy Days" for TV, said he was attracted to the show because he's usually associated with light, romantic fare. (AP Photo/Mark Kennedy) NEW YORK (AP) — Garry Marshall may turn 80 next month, but it certainly wasn't apparent as the legendary director led a recent play rehearsal downtown.
