Popular Venezuelan cartoonist fired over drawing

A political cartoon by Rayma Suprani using the signature of Venezuela's late President Hugo Chavez, bottom, reads in Spanish "Health," top, and "Health in Venezuela," bottom, appears on the Sept. 17 opinion page of El Universal newspaper in Caracas, Venezuela, Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014. The award-winning 19-year veteran of El Universal says she lost her job over her representation of the late Hugo Chavez's iconic signature as a flat-lined heartbeat to dramatize Venezuela's health care crisis. Her ouster has alarmed press freedom advocates who say once-independent media are seeing criticism of the socialist government snuffed out.
