Award-winning actor applies for asylum in Berlin

In this photo taken Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, Bosnian actor Nazif Mujic holds his Silver Bear Best Actor award for his role in 'An Episode In the Life of an Iron Picker' prior to an interview with the Associated Press in Berlin, Germany. Mujic, a Roma from a tiny village in Bosnia, won the Silver Bear award in 2013. Now, almost a year later, the movie star has turned into an asylum seeker. Mujic is back in Berlin, but this time he came with his family to apply for asylum, was rejected by the German authorities and is desperately fighting his deportation back to Bosnia in March. (AP Photo/Michael Sohn) BERLIN (AP) — Nazif Mujic flashes a toothless smile and his entire face lights up when he recalls how he won the best actor award at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2013: "I went up on stage, everybody was cheering, everybody wanted to talk to me — it was like walking on clouds."
