The real Capt. Phillips gets hero's welcome in Vt.

Captain Richard Phillips, the real-life ship captain being played by Tom Hanks in the docudrama "Captain Phillips," smiles during an interview before a screening of "Captain Phillips," on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 in Williston, Vt. The film was adapted from the captain’s memoir about the 2009 hijacking of his vessel by Somali pirates. Phillips spent five days as a hostage of the pirates on a lifeboat, where he was beaten, tied up and threatened before he was rescued days later by U.S. Navy SEALs.
