Hugh Jackman to visit renovated Iowa opera house

FILE - In this Sept. 12, 2013 photo, Hugh Jackman arrives at the premiere of "Prisoners" at The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, Calif. A renovated opera house in a small northern Iowa city that’s served as a movie theater for decades will get a dose of star power when Jackman visits for its reopening. The international star’s appearance at the 114-year-old Metropolitan Theater in Iowa Falls on Sept. 21, 2013, may seem unusual, but new theater owner John Whitesell doesn’t think so. He says the Australian actor, who is a family friend, called him a few months ago expressing appreciation for his efforts to restore the rundown theater.(Photo by Jose Flores/Invision/AP) IOWA FALLS, Iowa (AP) — When word got out that actor Hugh Jackman was going to visit a small northern Iowa city for the reopening of its old movie theater, John Whitesell didn't think it was unusual.
